In the heart of Savannah, Georgia, over 40 mujeres from Latinas Run came together for a powerful and transformative moment in the running community: the inaugural Every Woman’s Marathon. For many of these women, this was their first marathon, a culmination of months of dedication, grit, and unwavering determination. This event was more than just a carrera—it was a statement about the strength and resilience of Latina women and the importance of creating space for representation and empowerment in the long-distance running world.


The Journey to Savannah

The road to Savannah began with a spark of excitement in Atlanta, Georgia. While the Atlanta shakeout run was open to local corredores and aimed at promoting the race, the participants in Savannah represented Latinas Run members from across the country. The Atlanta event served as an energizing moment to highlight the upcoming race and encourage runners to take part in this historic carrera.



When race weekend arrived, Savannah welcomed runners with open arms, including icons in the running world like 2018 Boston Marathon winner Desiree Linden and Kathrine Switzer, a trailblazing legend. Their presence inspired every mujer participating, reminding them that distance running is not just about physical endurance but also about breaking barriers and rewriting history.


Breaking Barriers: A Celebration of All Women

What set Every Woman’s Marathon apart was its unwavering commitment to inclusivity. Women of all shapes, sizes, paces, and abilities lined up to run, embodying the spirit of perseverance and community. Whether walking, jogging, or racing, every participant proved that running is for todos—because, as Latinas Run proudly believes, forward is a pace

Training schedules included long-distance runs, cross-training, and weekly check-ins to keep everyone motivated. Every step brought these women closer to Savannah, and every mile logged reflected the spirit of resilience that defines Latinas Run.
